I must be PMS’ing, because this Chocolate Chip Halloween Costume looks good enough to eat!

Now? My only problem is wondering if I’ll be able to outrun the kids who are chasing me with a large glass of milk!

Materials:

Corrugated cardboard (purchase a roll, or use an old box)
Pencil
Craft knife and cutting mat
Foam paintbrushes
Acrylic paints in assorted colors
Cotton twine
Hot glue gun
Medium plastic bowl
Newspaper
Masking tape
Aluminum foil
Construction paper
Permanent marker
Brown turtleneck
Brown pants
Brown shoes

Directions:

1. To make cookie, draw 2 large circles on cardboard; cut out. Paint each on both sides to make desired cookie; let dry.

2. Cut six 24-inch lengths of twine. Knot 3 together near one end; braid twine and knot other end to make each shoulder strap.

3. Hold front and back cookies on body. Glue one end of each strap to wrong side of front cookie, near shoulders. Drape straps over shoulders and glue to wrong side of back cookie.

4. Cut two 256-inch pieces of cardboard for belt loops. Glue ends of belt loops to wrong sides of front and back cookies, centering loops at waist level. Allow some slack in loops.

5. To make hat, place bowl open side down. Roll several sheets of newspaper into cone; slip over bowl and tape in place. Tape ends of four 20-inch lengths of aluminum foil inside bowl, then smooth foil up to cover sides of bowl and twist together at top of hat to look like chocolate candy. Write
message on construction paper; tape to top of hat.

6. Cut 4-inch-wide strip of newspaper; wrap around head and tape ends to make inner hat band. Tape band inside hat.

7. Dress in turtleneck, pants and shoes. Place cookie over shoulders. Cut 60 inches of twine for belt. Slip one end through front loop, then around waist, then through back loop and tie in knot at side. Place hat on head.
