Back to Life, Back to Reality

I’ve been on the road for Mommyality and A Daily Pinch. Ford Motor Company invited me to be their guest in Detroit for the NAIAS and at their test track facility. Yes, it was fantastic. They spoiled us. Really spoiled us. People have no idea what 15 minutes in a jacuzzi tub with no one knocking on the door can do for your psyche.

However, I am tired. I don’t know how the gals and guys that came straight from CES to #FordGreen did it. They had been at that show for days and then came to go on our whirlwind adventures. Those posts are sitting in draft for later this week.

I came back to life, back to reality, back to Mommyality.

My house was turned into a ManCave. I’m serious. The boys were stuck at home due to the snow and ice we had received in the Charlotte area. There were no showers, minimal tooth brushing and one night, they ate a two-pound pot roast with sides by themselves. I seriously wanted to come home and shove raw veggies down their throat and do hourly cholesterol tests on them. Housework? I laugh, because they were in the same clothes they had on when I left. Pajamas. Although, my hubby did jump into the shower right before I got home.

Did I mention I was a day late?

Yep, thanks to the unusual weather we have had of late in NC, I was stuck an extra day in Detroit. You think my boys would have attempted something on Tuesday before I was supposed to get home. Nope. Nada. They were not prepared to get back to reality.

Am I ready to get back to reality?

Nope.  Not at all. I need to really be putting the hammer down on my house and work, instead I am sitting in the coffee shop, sort of working. I think I am needing to ease back into the insanity of my life as it was before. Always on, always going and keeping my whirling dervish (my husbands words) schedule.

Time to get back to my reality, my Mommyality. I’ve missed it. And? I’m really looking forward to it!
