Simple and Summery Face in 5 Minutes

Hi. My name is Lisa and I am a product a-holic. I started wearing make-up when I was 11 and remember it very clearly. My Dad(!!) actually took me to the Estee Lauder counter and bought my foundation, clear lipgloss and a pale, pale pink blush. Looking back on it now, he didn’t want his little girl growing up and so my pleas for make-up were covered subtlely.

Since it was the 80’s, and my parents were divorced, my mother was at the opposite end of the spectrum. She was always telling  me “go put some color on your face”. I think I heard that every morning before heading out to school. Looking back on it, I realize that Cosmo was in it’s heyday and if you are of a certain age, you know what the makeup of the time was. Brash. Powerful. Yet sexy. It said “I can wear a power suit with tennis shoes to work, and still come off as irresistably sexy”.

As a busy mom, there are mornings I have to be out the door in a flash and this is how I do it. I still wear make-up, but it changes with the seasons. However, since most think that I am always put together, I am sharing my essentials for my summer look.

1. Neutrogena Healthy Defense® SPF 30 Daily Moisturizer. My skin is sensitive and this product is great for my face in the morning. It has sunscreen, which is essential in the blazing summer sun.

2. Stila Tinted Moisturizer. Yep, another one. This one is for coverage. A light one, but it’s what I need to keep my pink skin tone evened out and looking fantastic.

3. Rimmel Eye Magnifier Mascara. Let it be said that I love mascara and am always trying out different kinds to find that perfect one. This one is fantastic. Fits my demands and washes off easily.
4. Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow in Bone. I just sweep it from lid all the way up my brow. It’s a nice clean look, that’s done, but not overtly so.
5. Bobbi Brown Bronzer. I sweep it on for a summery glow, which I have to use since I am quite pasty using all the sunscreen I do.
6. Clinique Redness Solutions Instant Relief Mineral Powder. Yellow is the only thing that comes to mind when describing this. However, I get red and that on top of pasty is something akin to day-glo pink. Not a good look. I don’t want to look like I’ve been running the NYC Marathon without any training.
7. I love lip gloss. Buxom Lips is my go-to for my perfect summer pout. Cause when you are having a hot flash in 90 degree heat, that’s all you want to do…pout.
8. My brows are blonde. So blonde they are practically invisible. Benefit Brow Zings brow shaping kit. Love it to no end. It has nifty little tweezers to tackle strays and the wax base helps me define, while the powder shade assists in framing my eye.
That’s it kids. If it weren’t past midnight when I wrote this, I would actually snap a photo of myself and share my “natural” summer face. This only takes 5 minutes for me and creates a natural face that is easy to manage and looks professional without being overly “done”.
These products are ones I use personally. I was in no way sponsored, compensated, nor asked by these companies to promote these products. The opinions here are my own, based off of my own personal experience with said products.
